Lac Léman (as Lake Geneva is known outside Genève) has been a playground for the idle rich since the early 19th Century. In more recent decades, the working wealthy have joined the deposed kings, aging movie stars, and tax refugees who have long enjoyed the region's almost Mediterranean climate.
