Schedule
In summer, the Stockhornbahn runs from late May through early November and on
the second Sunday of November if the weather is favorable. Cable cars leave the valley station every 30 minutes from
morning until late afternoon. The cable car takes nine minutes to reach Chrindi, where a second cable car leaves six
minutes later for the five-minute ride to the summit.
In winter, the the Stockhornbahn operates as a ski lift.

Food
The Stockhornbahn has two restaurants on the mountain:
- Panoramarestaurant Stockhorn (summit)
- Restaurant Chrindi (middle station)
Lodgings
At the Oberstockenalp, which is accessible on foot on the hiking trail
between the Chrindi and summit stations, 30 beds are available in a mountain
chalet during the summer season. For details in German, visit

Reaching the Stockhornbahn
By rail. The Stockhornbahn's valley station is at Erlenbach im Simmental,
which is on railroad line 300.20 from Spiez to Zweisimmen in the Swiss Official Timetable. Spiez is easy to reach
from Bern, Thun, or Interlaken.
The total trip time to Erlenbach i. S. is about 15 minutes from Spiez, 29 minutes from
Thun, 38 minutes from Interlaken Ost, or 49 minutes from Bern. Trains run frequently
throughout the day. (Avoid intercity express trains, which don't stop in Erlenbach.)
By car. You can reach Erlenbach i. S. from Gwatt or Spiez and park by the
Stockhornbahn station. Consult a local road map for details.
