The Hotel Writes
"Opposite the Vienna State
Opera House and a short walk from the renowned shopping of Kaerntner Strasse
lies the Hotel Bristol, A Westin Hotel, Vienna. A landmark of elegance in
Austria's capital city, our hotel is renowned for impeccable service and
luxurious guest rooms - boasting unique welcome amenities, such as fruit baskets
and petits fours. It's no wonder we were named to Condé Nast Traveler's 2002
Gold List and on Condé Nast Traveler's 2001 Reader's Choice Awards List as well.
"Both the Global Business Center and the exclusive Bristol Executive Club
offer high-tech options to comfortably conduct everyday business. Our exclusive
restaurant, Korso bei der Oper, features delectable Austrian specialties and
stunning views of the State Opera House and the Bristol Bar, featuring live
piano music, is perfect for casual get-togethers."
Review
Jamie Dunford Wood:
Old Vienna classic owned by Westin Hotels that is looking rather cumbersome
alongside what else is on offer in this city. For sheer class, the Sacher or
smaller Kaiserin Elisabeth win hands down, while for sleek business comfort the
Ana Grand just along the Ringstrasse is the best in town. The Bristol's
Edwardian lobby is impressive, with lots of coloured marble and swirly carpets
upstairs, but the rooms are on the small side, with heavy German furnishings
which have had the Westin treatment. There are 140 of them. The hotel was built
in 1895.
