You'll park your car here and catch the train here if you're headed for Zermatt, but this village of 680 people is a family-friendly resort in its own right.

This picturesque valley on the Haute Route Chamonix-Zermatt has mountain pastures, vineyards, and unspoiled resorts for sports enthusiasts and nature buffs.

The first hotel in the Val d'Anniviers opened in 1859. In recent years, the hotel has been restored to its original splendor, and it was "Historical Hotel of the Year" by the International Council on Monuments and Sites.
