Venice Marco Polo Airport

The Aeroporto di Venezia Marco Polo (code: VCE) is only 6 km or 4 miles from Venice's historic center. It's located on the Italian mainland or terrafirma, alongside the Venetian Lagoon.

By airport bus or land taxi, the trip between Marco Polo Airport and Venice's Piazzale Roma vehicle gateway takes about 20 minutes. The trip into the city takes longer by boat,  but (unless you're staying near the Piazzale Roma) traveling by water will bring you closer to your hotel.

  • In the top satellite image below, you can see the airport's general layout. All airlines use the single white-roofed arrivals and departures terminal just to the left of the runways.

  • The lower photo shows the piers for water taxis (left) and Alilaguna airport boats (right) which are a seven-minute walk from the arrivals area via the covered walkway that you can see on the top left side of the photo. (Click here for illustrated step-by-step

    Walking directions to the hotel

    from the terminal.)
