2006 UPDATE:
Because of consistent problems with water levels on the Po
River, Uniworld will not cruise from Venice this year, and River Cloud II
has been moved to Northern Europe.
River Cloud II
The five-star River Cloud II brings a new standard of
luxury to Uniworld's Northern Italian river cruises. The chartered ship, which was built in
2001, is 338 feet long and 32 feet wide (103 x 9.8 meters) with a crew of 33 to
35. The ship accommodates 88 passengers in 44 cabins. Cabin no. 1 was specially
designed for guests in wheelchairs.
River Cloud II cabin amenities include a TV with VCR, a minibar,
and a bathroom with a marble sink, large shower, and gold-plated taps. Promenade
Deck cabins have three floor-to-ceiling windows; other staterooms have dual
portholes. Guests in all cabins receive bathrobes, complimentary mineral water
and soft drinks, fruit baskets, and welcome Champagne.
Eight-day/7-night River Cloud II intineraries start with
an airport transfer from Milan to Cremona; the cruise itinerary includes
Cremona, Toricella, Parma, Boretto, Mantua, Verona, Ferra, and Venice. (The ship
stays in Venice for two nights, with a day trip to Murano and Burano.)
