About these Venice hotel pages:
We've included customized Google maps that you can zoom, rotate, or drag for better views.
If you see a conflict between our directions and a hotel's, rely on ours. (Hotel sites are often years out of date.) Ditto for maps: Our icons are hand-placed for accuracy, while GPS-based labels can be off by a street or more.
Finally, if you don't know the city's
layout, see our Venice Orientation Map
before booking.

Directions and Booking Links

ABOVE: The Gabrieli is marked by the second
icon from the left side of the map.

The four-star
Hotel Gabrieli Sandwirth is just beyond the crush of luxury hotels on the
Riva degli Schiavoni. Its 14th Century Venetian Gothic palazzo faces
the St. Mark's Basin waterfront, about 10 minutes on foot from the Piazza San
Marco. (Trivia note: The Gabrieli was
featured in a 1992 movie,
Blame It on the Bellboy, which starred Richard Griffiths, Dudley
Moore, and Bronson Pinchot.)
How to reach the Hotel Gabrieli from the Arsenale
airport-boat stop:
-
As you leave the waterbus pier, turn left and walk to the
stone bridge.
-
Cross the bridge.
-
The Gabrieli Sandwirth will be on your right, facing the
water.
From the Marittima cruise terminals:
-
Take the Alilaguna Blue Line airport boat from the cruise
basin to Arsenale. (The price will be about half of the airport fare.)
-
Follow the directions above.
From the San Basilio cruise pier:
-
Leave the terminal by the main doors and walk to the wooden
bridge.
-
Cross the bridge and walk a short distance to the vaporetto
station.
-
Take the No. 2 vaporetto (water bus) in the direction of San
Zaccaria.
-
Get off at the Zaccaria stop, turn right, cross the stone
bridge, and continue walking along the waterfront until you reach the
Gabrieli Sandwirth.
