The six-room
Locanda del Ghetto is on the Campo del Ghetto Nuovo, a pleasant square in the heart of Europe's original ghetto ebraico. (See our
illustrated article.) The inn is
next to the Italian synagogue and the Jewish Museum of Venice. A kosher
breakfast is included in the rates.
How to reach Locanda del Ghetto from the Guglie
airport-boat stop:

As you leave the boat platform, turn right and walk a few
meters to the Gam Gam restaurant, where you'll see a passage that leads to
the Ghetto Ebraico.

Go through the passage and walk straight ahead (with the
occasional jog) past the Majer bakery and over a small bridge.

After crossing the bridge, you'll be in the Campo del Ghetto
Nuovo. The Locanda del Ghetto will be on your right as you enter the square,
underneath a portico.
From the Santa Lucia Railroad Station:
(Tip: Drag the map up and to the
right for a better view of the walking route from the station.)

Leave the railroad station by the marble steps outside the main doors, or by the easy-to-miss
(and conveniently stair-free)
side exit if you have rolling luggage, a stroller, or a wheelchair.

When you reach the wide fondamenta or pavement in
front of the station, turn left.

Walk past the Scalzi Church and the Scalzi Bridge toward the
Lista di Spagna (a busy pedestrian thoroughfare).

Continue down the Lista di Spagna and through the Camp San
Geremia to the Ponte delle Guglie, a stone bridge that arches over the
Cannaregio Canal.

Cross the bridge and immediately turn left.

Walk until you reach the passage to the Ghetto, which is
just before the Gam Gam restaurant.

Go through the passage and walk straight ahead (with the

Cross the bridge, which leads into the Campo del Ghetto
Nuovo. The Locanda del Ghetto will be on your right as you enter the square,
underneath a portico.
