San Basilio Cruise Terminal

from: Fisheye Venice

photo

Just beyond the Zattere vaporetto platform is the San Basilio cruise terminal, which has its own waterbus stop and is accessible via a wooden footbridge.

San Basilio is the smaller of Venice's two main cruise terminals. It handles small and midsize cruise ships (especially during high season, when the main Marittima cruise terminal's quays are filled with megaships) and river vessels.

Tip: A Billa supermarket is close to the Zattere vaporetto stop. In a city where decent bread bakeries are few and far between, Billa's mini-baguettes and ciabatta rolls are too good to pass up.
