Three-star hotel.
Location: On the Calle Larga XXII
Marzo, an important shopping street that feeds into the Piazza San
Marco. Closest
Alilaguna Airport Boat
stop: San Marco.
Convenient when:
You
want a romantic, centrally-located, mid-priced hotel with a garden where
you take refuge from San Marco's crowds on pleasant days.
The
Hotel Flora is a favorite of people who come to Venice year after year,
so book early if you want a room. Why is the Flora so popular? Location
is one reason, but the lush garden is another (especially in summer,
when breakfast is served outdoors).
Rooms vary in size and furnishings, and--as at many Venetian
hotels--you'll be happiest if you can afford one of the costlier rooms.
Still, no matter what you pay, you'll enjoy the same elegant public
spaces, the same buffet breakfast, and the same free Wi-Fi throughout
the hotel.

Aerial photos:
-
In the top photo, the Hotel Flora is near the left
side of the frame, two blocks over from the "Calle" in Calle del
Traghetto. The horizontal street that runs across the frame to the
Piazza San Marco (on right) is the Calle Larga XXII Marzo, where
you'll find shops and plenty of banks with "bancomats" or ATMs.
-
In the close-up photo, the San Moisè
Church and the five-star Hotel Bauer and Bauer
Il Palazzo are at far left. You'll pass these on your way from
the San Marco vaporetto and airport-boat pier. Continue
along the Calle Larga XXII Marzo to the Calle dei Bergamaschi (right
side of photo), where you'll find the Hotel Flora on your left.
