Locanda Sant'Agostin

ABOVE: A view from the Locanda Sant'Agostin.
INSET BELOW: The hotel's sign, and an exterior view from across a canal.
Category: Town House Suites 1st Category.
Location: In the San Polo district,
near the Campo San Polo and the Frari Church.
Convenient when:
You're
arriving in Venice by airport bus, taxi, car, or train and don't mind
walking over a few bridges to reach this small, traditional Venetian
hotel in an authentic local neighborhood.
The
Locanda Sant'Agostin is in one of our favorite districts--the
sestiere of San Polo--and it isn't too hard to find if you have
a decent Venice street map.
Triple and quad rooms are available, making the Sant'Agostin a good bet
for families. (A cautionary note: Because the Locanda is a
reasonable distance from the nearest waterbus stop, it's not ideal for
travelers with heavy luggage.)

In the first image, you can see the Santa Lucia
Railroad Station on the left. The Piazzale Roma, where airport buses
and land taxis arrive in Venice, is close by. The Locanda
Sant'Agostin is in the lower right corner of the picture, about 10
to 15 minutes from the station if you don't get lost.

The second photo is a close-up of the Locanda's
location, which is on the Campo Sant'Agostin (near the lower left
corner of the frame, just off the Calle de la Chiesa).
