Location: In the Calle Priuli, a few blocks north of the Ca' d'Oro vaporetto landing. Closest Alilaguna Airport Boat stop: Fondamenta Nuove.

The Hotel Palazzo Abadessa Residenza d'Epoca is in Cannaregio, slightly north of the Grand Canal. Guest rooms in the 16th Century palace feature restored frescoes, plasterwork, and terrazzo or inlaid-wood floors, and much of the furniture is antique.

The hotel also has an extensive private garden where breakfast is served during the warmer months.

For classic Venetian luxury at prices that are affordable by four-star standards, the Palazzo Abadessa is a tempting choice.
