Review
Extensive restoration of this 18th Century
palazzo-turned-hotel was completed early 2004. Canal-facing rooms have been
completely overhauled: They're still decorated in traditional Venetian style,
but today they offer modern comforts that were lacking in the past.
The real change, however, is in the hotel's acquisition of
a neighbouring theatre - the rooms here are more modern in style, and a glass
and steel reception area connects the two buildings. Upstairs, the former
theatre lobby makes a grand and impressive salon, which is great for receptions.
The
Monaco & Grand overlooks the Grand Canal, and its terrace restaurant is
considered one of the best in Venice.
