S. Servolo

From: Venice Waterbus Stops

San Servolo is a tiny island in the Venetian Lagoon. It was first settled by Benedictine monks more than 1,200 years ago and later became an insane asylum. (See history.)

Today, San Servolo is the campus of Venice International University. The island has a Psychiatric Hospital Museum that is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (See a list of museum exhibits.)
