Venice One-Star Hotels
Hotel Ai Tolentini
The Piazzale Roma is only a short walk from this hotel, which is named after the
nearby Tolentini church. Some rooms have private baths. See
guest comments.
Hotel Alex
San Polo is one of the more lively, less touristy areas of Venice, and the Alex
is in the middle of this delightful neighborhood near the Frari Church.
Guest comments are extremely favorable.
Hotel Al Gazzettino
The Gazzettino is in a good location for shoppers, with the Mercerie
shopping streets close by and both the Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge
within easy walking distance. One
guest comment warns: "Be prepared to be woken up by singing Gondoliers!"
Hotel Allogi Henry
This hotel is near the Ghetto Nuovo in a pleasant and lively residential section
of Cannaregio. It's within easy walking distance of the railroad station but off
the main tourist track.
Hotel Al Vagon
The Rialto Bridge is a five-minute walk from this family-owned property, which
is also close to the main pedestrian route between the railroad station and the
Piazza San Marco. (Some guests complain of noise from the adjacent square;
others consider that to be a fair tradeoff for a central location.)
Hotel Ariel Silva
The Ariel Silva is in Cannaregio, about 7 minutes from the railway station and
10 minutes from the Piazzale Rome on foot. Ten of the 14 rooms have private
baths; the other four can be booked as pairs of connecting rooms with shared
baths if you're traveling with friends. Breakfast is served in a private garden
(open in summer, covered and heated in winter).
Hotel Casa Boccassini
You can choose between private and shared baths at this hotel in Cannaregio,
which is convenient to the Fondamenta Nuove stop of the
Venice airport boat. Rooms
with private baths also have TV and air conditioning.
Hotel Doni
For an inexpensive hotel, the Doni enjoys an outstanding location: It's slightly
east of the Piazza San Marco and not far inland from the S. Zaccaria vaporetto
station. Most rooms have sink only, with shower and WC in the hall (and
sometimes on a different floor).
Hotel Noemi
This newly renovated family-run hotel is just off the Piazza San Marco. Eight of
the
16 rooms have private baths, and all have satellite TV. Best of all, the Noemi's
single, double, triple, and quad rates are extremely reasonable for such a
convenient location. See
guest comments.
Locanda Salieri
Wi-fi is a perk at the Salieri, which one guest has described as a "lovely
welcoming little hotel." It's in Santa Croce, within a fairly short walk of the
Piazzale Roma.
Hotel San Maurizio
This hotel in the San Marco district has three room categories. You can choose
between a private or shared bathroom, depending on your budget.
Guest comments are mixed, although ratings seem to have improved since the
hotel underwent renovations in 2005.
Locanda
Silva
Signor Ettore and his daughter have run the Locanda Silva since 1956. All 23
rooms have been renovated and have private bathrooms, and the location is
convenient for this price range: It's just a few blocks from the Piazza San
Marco and the Zaccaria vaporetto stop.
Hotel Villa Rossa
The Santa Lucia railroad station is only 100 meters away from the Villa Rossa,
which is located just off the main pedestrian thoroughfare between the station
and the Piazza San Marco. The hotel has 33 bedrooms, all with private bath, plus
a garden where you can eat or drink outdoors in summer. See
guest comments.
