Venice Accommodations Index

Historic Center: 2-Star B&B

Ai Bareteri
This new guesthouse has double and triple rooms; the cheaper doubles have shared bath. Ai Bareteri is one block off the Mercerie, the main shopping thoroughfare between the Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge.

BB Venezia
Hardly any tourists stay in Sant' Elena, a residential district near the tip of the historic center. The location is out of the way unless you're attending football games at the Penzo Stadium, but you may find it convenient if you're dividing your time between sightseeing in town and swimming on the Lido.

Ca' Min
This B&B is in the heart of Castello, in the Palazzo Morosini in the Calle dei Fontego. The S. Giovanni e Paolo church and the city's hospital are close by. Ca' Min has just one room, a studio suite that accommodates up to four guests.

Corte Contarini
You can easily walk to this B&B from the Piazzale Roma or the railroad station if you aren't hauling too much luggage. Once you've arrived, you're bound to like the neighborhood: It's near the Campo Santa Margherita, where you'll find restaurants, shops, the wonderful Doge gelato shop, and even a supermarket. The Corte Contarini has one double room with a shared bath.

De Zorzi
I'm not especially fond of Giudecca, which is across the ship canal from the historic center of Venice, but it's worth considering if you're looking for peace and quiet and have purchased a vaporetto tourist ticket that offers unlimited rides. The De Zorzi has moderate rates, and you can always use your savings to buy drinks or an expensive dinner at the nearby Hotel CIpriani.

Locanda Novo
The Ca' D'Oro vaporetto stop is just a few meters from the Locanda Novo in Canareggio, near the shops and restaurants of the Strada Nova and within easy walking distance of the Rialto Bridge. Rooms include doubles, triples, quads, and suites.

Rooms Serena
If you're traveling with children or are on a tight budget, you can use extra beds to squeeze in one or two more bodies at this B&B in Santa Croce.

Trinit
The historic Venetian Ghetto is just around the corner from the reasonably priced Trinit, which is within easy walking distance of the Santa Lucia railroad station.

Venexiahome
This B&B's one air-conditioned double room has a bathroom that's shared with the owner. The building is a restored 16th Century monastery near the Riva de San Biasio vaporetto stop in Santa Croce.
