Crystal Mozart in Budapest

ABOVE: Mozart cruises past Budapest. The ship was built especially for Danube cruising.

After years as one of the cruise industry's top luxury oceangoing lines, Crystal Cruises declared bankruptcy and shut down operations in 2022.

Crystal's oceangoing ships are now operating under the Crystal Cruises brand with a new owner, while the line's river vessels have since been acquired by a new company, Riverside Luxury Cruises. (See link below.)

Riverside's flagship is the Mozart, which was relaunched by Crystal Cruises in 2016 after a top-to-bottom overhaul. (Mozart is currently the largest and widest river vessel in Europe, having been built specifically to fit the wide locks of the Danube between Passau, Germany and Budapest, Hungary.)
