Deck C with mooring lines

A ship's ladder (a.k.a. staircase) led down to a covered deck on deck C, immediately below the afterdeck. In this area, passengers could enjoy shelter from the wind and rain, though we didn't encounter much of either during our cruise.

The colorful ropes in the picture are mooring lines, which were used to tie the ship up in Longyearbyen, Barentsburg, and Ny ålesund.
