Our next step was to figure out where we were and how to reach the Agora ruins, the first planned stop on our walk into town. We'd bought a map for € 0,50 from the MSC Poesia reception desk (see above), but while it offered a useful overview, it lacked detail.

The map in the tourist office's Izmir Guide was even less detailed, although it show several self-guided tours with estimated driving and walking times.
