Inside the terminal, we took the escalator upstairs to the main passenger hall. The efficient boarding process took only a few minutes. We then went through security and walked through the glass-enclosed boarding bridge to MSC Poesia, where a steward took us to our cabin.

• Tip: We took the shuttle bus to the terminal just before noon, ahead of the rush. Arriving at the cruise terminal early let us avoid long lines, get lunch in the Villa Pompeiana Cafeteria before the crowds arrived, and have time to explore the ship before our 5 p.m. departure.
