MSC Poesia Cruise PhotosFrom: MSC Eastern Mediterranean Cruise Review
Venice departureThe Giudecca Canal is the deep waterway that separates Venice's historic center from the island of Giudecca. All cruse ships must pass through the Giudecca Canal on their way to or from the Marittima and San Basilio terminals. In the photo above, which was taken from MSC Poesia, you can see the Zattere (a long pedestrian promenade on the northern side of the canal), and a busy vaporetto stop. The Gesuati Church is in the foreground; on the right, in the distance, is the Campanile di San Marco, the famous bell tower on the Piazza San Marco that faces St. Mark's Basilica. |
