Venice's Aquamare is a "boutique B&B" on a quiet side street near St. Mark's Basilica and the Piazza San Marco. (It shares a building with the B&B 3C.)
The stylish rooms have a stylish green decor that pays homage to the waters of the Venetian Lagoon and St. Mark's Basin. All rooms have air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and electric kettles.
Public areas include a rooftop terrace where breakfast is served in good weather. From the altana (an open-air platform with tables and chairs), you can see the Campanile di San Marco and the Doge's Palace.
Aquamare is just a short walk from the "C" and "D" platforms of the ACTV waterbus stop at San Zaccaria, which is used by Alilaguna Linea Blu (Blue Line) airport boats. Here are our step-by-step walking directions:
As you leave the waterbus pier, bear left and walk toward the stone pedestrian bridge.
Cross the bridge.
Turn right at the first street heading inland, the Calle delle Rasse.
After you've passed the Hotel Commercia & Pellegrino, you'll see a side street called the Ramo dei Padovani. Turn left, walk past the Hotel Lux, and look for an iron gate on your right. (The building number is 4544.)
Next to the entrance is a panel with doorbells for the building's tenants. Press the doorbell for "Aquamare," and the staff will admit you.
