ABOVE: If you can't manage the three steps to the entrance of the Palazzo Stern, you can use the electric wheelchair lift.
On this page, we've listed a small number of wheelchair-accessible hotels in other parts of Venice. We've focused on hotels that are close to both airport ground transportation and the No. 1 vaporetto, which is the most convenient water bus for sightseeing.
Grand Canal: | |
Palazzo Stern (4 stars) |
The Palazzo Stern faces the Grand Canal. It's next to the Ca' Rezzonico airport-boat and vaporetto stop, where you can take the No. 1 water bus up or down the Grand Canal. |
Piazzale Roma (airport buses, taxis, People Mover to Marittima cruise port): |
|
Santa Chiara (3 stars) |
The Santa Chiara is directly on the Piazzale Roma. Guests with wheelchairs are accommodated in the hotel's barrier-free annex, Residenza Parisi, where rooms are "disable-friendly." |
Santa Lucia Railroad Station: | |
Boscolo Bellini (4 stars) |
This outpost of Italy's Boscolo hotel group is a short walk or wheelchair ride from the train station over level ground (but with low steps at the hotel entrance). Two of its 97 rooms are accessible. |
