easyCruise
ABOVE: EasyCruise Life is offering 3- and day-cruises from Athens and Kusadasi in 2010. EasyCruise was created several years ago by the founder of easyJet, the budget airline. The line targets economy-minded cruisers in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. Fares are low, meals are served cafeteria-style, and the emphasis is less on cruising than on making it easy (and cheap) to visit a variety of ports in the Greek Islands, Aegean Islands, and Turkey. In most ports of call, the ship arrives in the late morning and remains until the early hours of the following day, allowing passengers to enjoy restaurants and nightlife ashore before the ship sails. easyCruise Life became the line's new flagship in 2008, replacing the older (and smaller) EasyCruiseOne. The 12,711-ton vessel was formerly the Lev Tolstoy before being acquired by easyCruise and given a multimillion-euro overhaul. Itineraries during 2010 include 3- and 4-night cruises to the Greece Islands and Turkey, with two departure ports: Athens and Kusadasi. Cruise line's Web site:
