Sea Cloud CruisesFrom: European Cruise Guide Sea Cloud Cruises is an ultra-luxury line with two sailing vessels: the Sea Cloud, a four-masted barque that was built in 1931 for financier E.F. Hutton and his wife, the cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post; and the Sea Cloud II, a modern square-rigger in the classic windjammer tradition. Both vessels are true sailing ships with manually set rigging. (The debut of a third sailing ship, the Sea Hussar, reportedly has been delayed by the bankruptcy of the Spanish shipyard where the vessel was being built.) Sea Cloud Cruises also operates two river vessels, the River Cloud and River Cloud II. The company is based in Hamburg, Germany and has an office in the United States, where it has attracted a following among wealthy sailing enthusiasts.
