Altstadt
Regensburg still has a few remnants of Castra Regina, the fortified
military camp that emperor Marcus Aurelius built along the Danube (then
the northern edge of the Roman Empire) in 179 A.D. This section of the Roman
wall is just to the
east of Maxmilianstraβe as you approach the
Altstadt from the railway station.
