Voyages of Discovery
ABOVE: The MV Discovery. Voyages of Discovery (formerly known as Discovery Cruises in the U.S. market) is a UK-based small-ship line with a single vessel: the MV Discovery, a 20,186-ton ship (formerly the Island Princess) with 350 cabins that accommodate two to four passengers each. Although MV Discovery is equipped for "soft adventure" expeditions to such farflung destinations as the Arctic and Antarctic, it has traditional cruise-ship amenities such as swimming pools, bars, a movie theatre/lecture hall, a gym, an Internet center, and a beauty salon. From spring through early fall of 2010, the MV Discovery will offer voyages in the North Atlantic, Northern Europe, Mediterranean, Black Sea, and other European cruising regions, including many roundtrip itineraries from Harwich.
