Hotels in Neuchâtel

photo

Neuchâtel has a good range of accommodation in all price categories.

The top two hotels are the five-star Beau-Rivage, a classic grand hotel on the city's lakefront, and the ultramodern Palafitte, which was built for the Expo.02 exhibition and is on the edge of town. (See inset photo.)

The modern, four-star Beaulac is also on the lakefront, facing the boat harbor.

In the three-star category, you can choose between the Alpes et Lac (close to the railroad station), Hotel des Arts (convenient to the station, the lake, and the ville),  de l'Ecluse (above the old town), Maison du Prussien (a 10-room converted brewery), and Touring au Lac, opposite the port and excursion-boat landing.

Cheaper options include the Café-Hotel Aubier (in the old town, by the Banneret fountain) and the Hotel du Marché (which has shared toilets and showers with a perfect location on the Place des Halles in the historic center of Neuchâtel).

For more places to stay in the Neuchâtel area, including holiday apartments and farms that offer Sleep in Straw or barn & breakfast lodgings, see Neuchâtel Tourism's Accommodation page.
