Venice Carnival Dates
Carnival always ends on Martedì Grasso, or "Fat Tuesday," and Venice's celebration normally starts a week and a half earlier on a Saturday. It's possible that the Carnival management will add a preview weekend before the traditional 11-day Carnival period, as was done in 2011. (We'll provide an updated calendar after the 2012 dates have been announced officially.) For more information on the Carnevale di Venezia, see these Venice for Visitors articles: Venice Carnival -
