ABOVE: The leftmost in the bottom row marks the entrance of the Hotel Westin Europa & Regina, which is inland from the Grand Canal.

The five-star, 185-room Westin Europa & Regina is one of Venice's most conveniently-situated luxury hotels, especially for shoppers. Many of the top boutiques are in the surrounding streets, and the hotel has its own water-taxi pier for convenience in hauling suitcases filled with Missoni sweaters, Prada handbags, and Jesurum linens to the airport.

The hotel is one bridge away from the San Marco Giardinetti airport-boat stop, which is served by Alilaguna's Blue and Orange Lines.

How to reach the Europa & Regina from San Marco Giardinetti:

As you leave the boat station, turn left and cross a small stone bridge.
At the other waterbus station just beyond the bridge, turn right into the Calle Vallaresso.
Walk straight ahead down the Calle Vallaresso, past Harry's Bar and a row of designer shops.
At the first corner, turn left into the Salizzada San Moisè.
Walk to the narrow canal alongside the Hotel Bauer, where you'll see gondolas on your left and a small bridge just ahead.
Cross the bridge. On your left, you'll see a campiello or small square and the Hotel Violino d'Oro. Look for a sotoportego or passage.
Go through the passage and past the Hotel Lisbona.
Continue down the Ramo Secondo Barozzi to the Corte Barozzi, where you'll see the entrance to the Westin & Regina in the southwest corner of the small square.

From the Marittima cruise terminals:

Take the Alilaguna Blue Line airport boat from the cruise basin to the San Marco boat stop.
