Liefdefjord and Monaco Glacier

As we took pictures and enjoyed the scenery, fjord ice began to freeze against the Nordstjernen's hullplates. (In the photo above, you can see the last four letters of the ship's name on the bow.)

Although the MS Nordstjernen isn't an icebreaker, it does have an ice-strengthened hull (class DNV+A1 ICE C) and can operate in ice-infested waters where ordinary cruise ships can't go.
