About these Venice hotel pages:
We've included customized Google maps that you can zoom, rotate, or drag for better views.
If you see a conflict between our directions and a hotel's, rely on ours. (Hotel sites are often years out of date.) Ditto for maps: Our icons are hand-placed for accuracy, while GPS-based labels can be off by a street or more.
Finally, if you don't know the city's
layout, see our Venice Orientation Map
before booking.

Directions and Booking Links

ABOVE: The Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal is marked by
an
just above the blue icons for the airport-boat and waterbus stops.

The four-star
Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal
is an upscale 100-room hotel just west of the Piazza San Marco. It's one of the
few hotels in Venice with wheelchair-accessible rooms (six in all).
How to arrive at the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal from the
Alilaguna stop at San Marco:
-
As you leave the boat station, turn left and cross a small
stone bridge.
-
At the other waterbus station just beyond the bridge, turn
right into the Calle Vallaresso.
-
The entance to the Monaco & Grand Canal will be on your
left, less than a minute from the waterfront.
Note: If you're in a wheelchair, you can avoid
the small bridge mentioned above by taking a longer route through the Piazza San
Marco. Here's how:
-
As you leave the boat platform, turn right and walk along
the water. (Souvenir kiosks and a small public garden will be on your left.)
You'll cross a low metal ramp over a canal.
-
At the Piazzetta (a large open space with two stone
columns), turn left and walk into the Piazza San Marco.
-
You'll need to bump or climb up a few steps into the arcades
along the south side of the square (the side next to the brick bell tower or
campanile).
-
Go straight ahead under the arcades to the southwestern
corner of the square, where a passage leads into a street.
-
Continue one short block and turn left into the Calle
Vallaresso. The hotel's wheelchair-friendly entrance is on the right side of
the street.
From the Marittima cruise terminals:
-
Take the Alilaguna Blue Line airport boat from the cruise
basin to the San Giardinetti stop and follow the directions above.
