About these Venice hotel pages:
We've included customized Google maps that you can zoom, rotate, or drag for better views.
If you see a conflict between our directions and a hotel's, rely on ours. (Hotel sites are often years out of date.) Ditto for maps: Our icons are hand-placed for accuracy, while GPS-based labels can be off by a street or more.
Finally, if you don't know the city's
layout, see our Venice Orientation Map
before booking.

Directions and Booking Links

ABOVE: The
icons mark the Albergo San Samuele and nearby hotels.

The
Albergo San Samuele is a one-star, 10-room hotel in the San Marco district,
not far from the Campo San Stefano and the Accademia Bridge. It's more
affordable than most hotels in its neighborhood, and as a bonus, Wi-Fi Internet
access is free for guests.
How to reach Albergo San Samuele from the Sant'Angelo
airport-boat stop:
-
As you leave the waterbus pier, walk inland on the street ahead
of you.
-
Continue into the L-shaped square (the Corte de l'Albero)
and exit via a tiny street straight ahead of you at the south end of the square.
-
Turn right onto Fondamenta Narisi and walk along
the canal. Continue straight ahead, past the Calle del Pestrin, to a bridge
called the Ponte Piscina San Samuele.
-
Cross the bridge, which will lead you into the Piscina San
Samuele.
-
Go straight ahead for a short distance.
-
Turn right at the Salizzada San Samuele. The Albergo San
Samuele will be a few doors down and to your right.
Tips:
-
Unlike most hotel Web
sites, the San Samuele's site has a simple line-drawing
map of the
area near the hotel that should be helpful if our written directions seem
complicated. The boat platform labeled "S. Angelo" is where the airport boat
arrives.
-
If you notice any signs for the Palazzo Grassi, the
San Samuele vaporetto stop, or the San Samuele traghetto (gondola
ferry) as you get closer to the hotel, you'll know you're headed in the
right direction.
