How to reach Madonna dell'Orto

"Circolare" waterbus lines 4.1, 4.1, 5.1, and 5.2 stop at Madonna dell'Orto. The platform is one station beyond S. Alvise when coming from the Piazzale Roma and train station, and one station beyond Fondamenta Nuove when coming from Zaccaria and Arsenale. For more information, see the table in our Vaporetto routes article.

From the vaporetto platform, walk inland until you reach the Fondamenta Madonna dell'Orto. Turn left; the church is just along the canal.

Opening hours and fees

The Church of Madonna dell'Orto is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. If you don't want to spend several euros on an admission ticket, you can get in free with the Chorus Pass (which is valid in 16 Venice churches).

Walking tours and Web links

See the next page for two walking itineraries from the Madonna dell'Orto and links to other sites about the Cannaregio district, including maps.
