Departure from Rome

Our day began at the apartment that we'd rented on the Via dell'Orso in Rome's Centro Storico or historic center.

From the flat, we walked 10 or 15 minutes to the Largo di Torre Argentina (site of the Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary) and caught the No. 8 tram to Trastevere Station.

At Trastevere Station, we boarded a commuter train to Rome's deepwater port of Civitavecchia. (For details, see "Rome to Civitavecchia by Train" at Rome for Visitors.)
