About these Venice hotel pages:
We've included customized Google maps that you can zoom, rotate, or drag for better views.
If you see a conflict between our directions and a hotel's, rely on ours. (Hotel sites are often years out of date.) Ditto for maps: Our icons are hand-placed for accuracy, while GPS-based labels can be off by a street or more.

ABOVE: The Hotel Vecelliois
on Venice's northern waterfront, one bridge away from the Alilaguna Blue Line
Vecellio is located directly on the Fondamente Nove, facing the Venetian
Lagoon. (That's the dialect spelling on Venice's street signs; your map may use
the Italian spelling "Fondamenta Nuove.") It's a tiny family-run hotel, but the
more expensive rooms offer views of boat traffic and (on clear days) the Italian
Alps in the distance.
All eight guest rooms have free Wi-Fi Internet access. The
Piazza San Marco is easy to reach on foot from the hotel, and public water buses
run frequently between the Fondamente Nove, other vaporetto piers in
the city center, and islands such as Murano and Burano.
Getting to the hotel:
Alilaguna's Blue Line airport boats stop at Fondamente Nove on
their way into the city. (The boat trip is much quicker than the circuitous
route to San Marco and points beyond.) Late at night, a few Alilaguna Orange
Line boats also call at Fondamente Nove. Here's how to reach the Hotel Vecellio from the Alilaguna boats,
which use platform "A" (the first, or farthest west, of the waterbus platforms
at Fondamente Nove):
As you leave the pier, turn left and walk toward the stone
Cross the bridge and walk past the next waterbus platform.
The Hotel Vecellio will be on your right, facing the water
right before you reach the Calle Columbina.
