Next, we boarded a PolarCirkel boat--like a Zodiac inflatable, but with a rigid structure above the air-filled rubber tubing.

The boat was surprisingly comfortable when the water got rough. Later in the trip, the inflated tubes soaked up most of the slap when we when we crossed a ship's wake on the Islfjord.
