Cogwheel train in winter

Zugspitze

The Bayerische Zugspitzbahn's cogwheel trains run year-round. In winter, they haul skiers and snowboarders to and from the Zugspitze Glacier Plateau, where--if snow conditions are favorable---the winter-sports season can run from October until May.
