Erfurt PhotosFrom: Erfurt, Germany
AugustinerklosterAt the time of my first visit to the monastery in 2004, a hole in front of the building was filled with rubble. Here, in the cellars of the old historic library, 267 people died on February 25, 1945 when British planes dropped two bombs on the monastery. The only survivor was a young girl who lost an arm in the blast.
