ABOVE: The Cipriani's launch takes only a
few minutes to reach the hotel from a private dock near the Piazza San Marco.
Getting to the hotel
Shuttle
boats. The Cipriani operates launches 24 hours a day from a private pier
near the Piazza San Marco. (See inset photo.) The boats are similar to Venice's
water taxis, and you can sit in the cabin or enjoy the fresh air in the stern.
Tip: Be careful to duck your head when entering the cabin. (Maybe the
Cipriani should have its boatmen push down the heads of passengers like cops
shoving suspects into police cars.)
Yacht mooring. The hotel's docking facilities can accommodate boats of
up to 70 feet (21 meters) in length with a maximum draft of 10 feet (3 meters).
From other transportation. For advice on reaching the hotel from the
airport, railroad station, or parking garages, see the Hotel Cipriani Web site
(link on page 7).
Tip: If you're arriving from the airport and the shared water taxi isn't
convenient, you can take the Venice airport
boat to San Marco and transfer to the Cipriani's private launch.
