You can enter the Dubrovnik City Walls at any of three places: at the Pile Gate on the western side of the Old City, just north of the Old Harbor on the eastern side, or by the south side of the Old Harbor near St. John's Fort.

Once you're on the walls, you can walk or linger as long as you wish. It can easily take a couple of hours to do the full 2-km or 1.3-mile circuit, especially if you stop to take pictures or have a snack at one of the cafés along the walls.
