Looking across to the district on the north side of the Galata Bridge, we again saw Karakoy Pier, this time with all four moored ships visible: Black Watch, Sevastopol 1, MSC Poesia, and Azamara Journey. (In the photo above, a local passenger boat crosses in front of Black Watch.)

• Note: It's only a 15- or 20-minute walk from the Karakoy cruise terminal to the downtown Istanbul waterfront, so you needn't take a cab or the tram unless you're in a hurry or have trouble walking.
