Munich two-star and budget hotels

Blutenberg
Rooms are cheerful and modern at the Blutenberg, which has its own garage. From the main railway station, the hotel is a 15-minute trip via the S-Bahn's S2 line. It's located in the Western suburb of Obermenzing, near the end of the Autobahn from Stuttgart.

Monaco
In a 1998 guest survey by two German hotel publications, the Monaco ranked #1 in the two-star category. The family-owned hotel is close to the Hauptbahnhof and offers single, double, and triple rooms. (Take the elevator to the reception desk, which is on the fifth floor.)

Welti
The Hotel Pension Welti is 30 minutes from the city center by bus and U-Bahn. As a reward for the long commute, you'll get economical rates and a large studio room with kitchen facilities
