Berlin Wall photo

f/2.0, 1/125 sec, ISO 160

Sample photos

The German Democratic Republic is long gone, but part of the GDR's Berlin Wall has been preserved as the East Side Gallery. I snapped this picture on a drizzly day, using the LX3's widest zoom setting while standing between parked cars next to the sidewalk.

Larger versions: 128-Kb and out-of-camera 3.54-Mb

Please note:

  • In the following pages, all sample images are unedited (except for resizing in the 400- and 1,000-pixel versions). What's more, the majority of the photos were taken in the LX3's "IA" or "Intelligent Automatic" mode, with the camera making all focusing and exposure decisions.

  • The largest versions of the sample photos in this gallery are mostly out-of-camera JPEGs with full EXIF data. (The only exceptions are a few low-light images that were converted from RAW to maximum-quality JPEG without post-processing adjustments.)

  • Unless you're an obsessive "pixel peeper," the intermediate (1,000-pixel-wide) samples are as large as you're likely to need. The maximum-size image files range from 2 Mb to nearly 10 Mb, so they may take a while to download even with a fast Internet connection.
