Hotel Ca' d'Oro, Venice

The three-star Hotel Ca' d'Oro is in the sestiere or district of Cannaregio, near the Rialto Bridge and within a 15- or 20-minute walk of the Piazza San Marco.

Like other hotels in the neighborhood, the Hotel Ca' d'Oro is handy if you're arriving at Marco Polo Airport, because you can get off the Alilaguna airport boat at Fondamente Nove instead of taking the long way around the city to stops on the St. Mark's waterfront or the Grand Canal.

The Ca' d'Oro has 27 rooms (including some doubles that are wheelchair-accessible), with accommodations that range from singles to junior suites. In good weather, you can enjoy views and fresh air on the rooftop terrace.

Below, you'll find our directions for walking to the hotel from Fondamente Nove platform "A," which is used by Alilaguna airport boats. (Alilaguna Linea Blu boats run from early morning until night, while a handful of Alilaguna Linea Arancio boats also stop at Fondamente Nove late in the evening.)

Hotel Ca' d'Oro map directions

  1. As you leave the pier, turn right, and look for a narrow street on your left: the Salizada dei Spechieri. Follow the street inland past the Gesuiti Church and through the Campo dei Gesuiti to a canal.

  2. Cross the bridge before the canal and walk straight ahead on the Salizada Seriman, the Salizada L. Borgato, and the Rio Terà SS. Apostoli. (The three streets are connected, one after the other.)

  3. Turn right at the Rio Terà Franceschi.

  4. At the end of the street, turn right into the Corte Barbarol, where you'll find the Hotel Ca' d'Oro.
