Hotel Giorgione

The Hotel Giorgione is a popular and well-regarded four-star hotel in Cannaregio, near the Santi Apostoli Church and about a quarter of a mile from the Rialto Bridge.

The hotel's 76 rooms are furnished in traditional Venetian style, and the palazzo theme extends the Giorgione's courtyard, where breakfast and afternoon tea are served around the large fountain in good weather.

From Marco Polo Airport, take the Alilaguna Linea Blu airport boat to Fondamente Nove and walk to the hotel. (Alilaguna's Linea Arancio boats also stop at Fondamente Nove late in the evening.) You'll need to cross several bridges as you walk to the hotel, but the bridges are low and should be manageable with all but the heaviest luggage.

Below, you'll find our directions for walking to the hotel from platform "A" at F. Nove, which is used by the Alilaguna airport boats:

  1. As you leave the pier, turn right and look for a narrow street on your left: the Salizada dei Spechieri.

  2. Walk inland on the Salizada Spechieri, past the Gesuiti Church to the Campo dei Gesuiti.

  3. You'll see a bridge ahead of you. Cross the bridge and continue along the Salizada Seriman to the next canal.

  4. At the canal, bear right slightly and cross the bridge.

  5. Continue walking down the Salizada L. Borgato, which will feed into the Rio Terà SS. Apostoli.

  6. Walk straight ahead on the Rio Terà SS. Apostoli until you reach the Calle Larga dei Proverbi.

  7. Turn right onto the Calle Larga dei Proverbi, where you'll find the hotel entrance at the next corner.
