Walking directions to La Palazzina Veneziana (with map)

With a location on the Cannaregio Canal, next to the Ponte delle Guglie bridge, La Palazzina Veneziana is convenient to both the Alilaguna Linea Arancio airport-boat stop at Guglie and Santa Lucia Railroad Station. (The station is only about 10 minutes away, with no bridges to cross until you reach the Cannaregio Canal.)

The upscale B&B has a range of double and twin rooms in the main building (shown above) and in an annex 100 meters away. All rooms are air-conditioned, have private bathrooms, and include free Wi-Fi.

How to reach La Palazzina Veneziana from the Guglie boat stop:

1. As you leave the Alilaguna Linea Arancio (Orange Line) airport boat's pier, turn right and walk south along the Canareggio Canal.

2. In less than a minute, you'll reach a wide pedestrian street, the Rio Tera S. Leonardo, with a bridge (the Ponte delle Guglie) on your right.

3. The Palazzina's entrance will be just ahead of you on the other side of the street, on the left side of the Trattoria alla Palazzina's maroon awning. (See photo above.)

From Santa Lucia Railroad Station:

ABOVE: This map shows the route from Venezia Santa Lucia Railroad Station to the Ponte delle Guglie on the Cannaregio Canal. Walking time is 5 to 10 minutes over level ground.

1. Leave the railroad station by the marble steps outside the main doors, or by the easy-to-miss (and conveniently stair-free) side exit if you have rolling luggage, a stroller, or a wheelchair.

2. When you reach the wide fondamenta or pavement in front of the station, turn left.

3. Walk past the Scalzi Church and the Scalzi Bridge toward the Lista di Spagna (a busy pedestrian thoroughfare).

4. Continue down the Lista di Spagna, through the Campo San Geremia (you'll see a large domed church on your right), and on to the Ponte delle Guglie Bridge.

5. Cross the bridge. La Palazzina Veneziana will be on your right immediately after the bridge. Look for the entrance just beyond the Trattoria alla Palazzina's maroon awning.
