Palazzo Veneziano hotel in Venice

ABOVE: The Palazzo Veneziano is the middle building in this trio of restored palazzi on Venice's Zattere.

The Palazzo Veneziano is close to the San Basilio cruise terminal and within walking distance of the Alilaguna Linea Blu airport-boat landing at Zattere. It faces the Giudecca Canal (see photo above), which is used by cruise ships, vaporetti, water taxis, and other maritime traffic.

The four-star superior hotel has 84 rooms and suites, some with Jacuzzis, terraces, and/or canal views. (In some cases, the private Jacuzzi is on the terrace, facing the Giudecca Canal.) The hotel also has a bar and is close to many restaurants.

How to reach the Palazzo Veneziano from the Alilaguna airport boat:

  1. Get off the Alilaguna Blue Line waterbus at the Zattere boat landing.

  2. Turn left and walk along the waterfront, past the ACTV vaporetto stops, until you reach a stone bridge.

  3. Cross the bridge and keep walking straight ahead.

  4. In a few minutes, you'll see a fenced yacht pier on your left. The Palazzo Venezia's entrance faces the pier.

From the San Basilio cruise terminal:

  1. Leave the terminal by the main entrance (at the end of the building). You'll see a small wooden bridge ahead of you.

  2. Cross the bridge. Walk past the ACTV vaporetto stop and the Conad supermarket.

  3. In a minute or so, you'll see the Palazzo Veneziano on your left, facing a fenced yacht pier.
