The four-star Royal San Marco is only a minute or so from the Piazza San Marco, via an arched passage and a small bridge.

The hotel has 51 rooms and suites, some overlooking the hotel's courtyard. A few superior rooms are wheelchair-accessible.

How to reach the Royal San Marco from Alilaguna's San Marco Giardinetti airport-boat stop:

  1. As you leave the boat platform, turn right and walk along the water. (Souvenir kiosks and a small public garden will be on your left.) You'll cross a low metal ramp over a canal.

  2. At the Piazzetta (a large open space with two stone columns), turn left and walk into the Piazza San Marco.

  3. Cross the Piazza San Marco to the arcades on the north side of the square. Go left and look for a passageway under the arcades named "Sotoportego dei Dai.")
