Emerald Star Cruise PhotosFrom: Emerald Waterways cruise review: Nuremberg-Trier Day 8: Disembarkation (Trier)
On disembarkation day, we placed our bags outside the cabin in the morning, and the crew picked them up for transfer to the buses that would take us to the airport.
Sailors (such as one shown here) weren't the only crew members handling luggage--we saw the executive chef hauling a suitcase toward the gangway.
Passengers left the ship in groups. We had an 11:30 a.m. flight from Frankfurt International Airport, so our bus departed at 8:30 a.m. Passengers who weren't in a hurry to leave, or who had afternoon flights, could stay on board longer, although they were asked to place their baggage in the hall and vacate their cabins by 8:30.
It was time to say farewell to Hafen Trier and its mountain of steel scrap.
Shortly after 11:30, we were on our way to the U.S. (like this Lufthansa Star Alliance A340) while the crew of Emerald Star prepared for a 7-night cruise from Trier to Nuremberg.
